Strong piping is foundational to high-performing buildings. Suffice to say, today’s projects demand energy efficiency, long service life, and environmental responsibility. As regulators, owners and designers push toward higher performance and sustainability goals, many traditional piping materials fall short.

Here aquatechnik makes its mark.

By using the latest generation of polypropylene random crystallinity temperature (PPR CT) 125 pellets, aquatechnik delivers pipes with higher pressure and temperature ratings than legacy and competing materials. Each pipe also contains a proprietary white oxidative resistance (WOR) additive, giving it about 40× the oxidative resistance of standard PPR—translating to markedly improved resistance to chemicals and chlorine and a longer useful life.

The formulation produces an exceptionally tight molecular structure with very low oxygen permeability, creating an effective oxygen barrier that protects metal components in heating systems from corrosion and rust. And because the system is designed for adaptability, those performance and durability gains can be applied across a wide range of heating, plumbing and industrial installations. The company’s UV pipe has astounded the engineering community in industrial slurry application. While a 12 inch pipe in similar conditions typically experiences complete closure within 6 months due to pipe scaling, aquatechnik’s pipe continues to operate flawlessly in place even after 8 years.

“Our piping solutions are designed for versatility, allowing easy integration with existing infrastructure and built to handle the pressure of today taller buildings, and the demands of tomorrow,” says Michael Thomas, CEO. “From high-rise buildings to mining, water treatment plants and chemical-heavy environments, we work with our customers to engineer every solution for durability, efficiency and long-term peace of mind.”

One of aquatechnik’s flagship products include Fusio-Technik, a fusion welded PPR-CT system available in sizes ranging from ½ inch to 24 inches in diameter. It delivers a continuous, leak-proof pipeline with superior flow retention and low impedance for cost saving in pumping energy. Designed for long-term performance, Fusio-Technik is backed by a 30-year third party insurance company warranty based on its predictable durability proven through pressure-temperature regression curves.

Safety-Technik, another standout in the lineup, is the market’s only all-polymer mechanical system. It features high performance polymer fittings and pipe with burst pressure rated up to 1500 pounds per square inch (PSI), more than twice the capacity offered by most competitors. Ideal for chemical, heating and cooling applications, the system enables ultra-fast installations with no flames, VOCs or metal parts.

Both products are approved and carry Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), highlighting their favorable environmental impact over competing piping systems.

Complementing the trio is ISO-Technik, the pre-insulated underground piping system where joints are sealed with a two-part formula inside a protective casing, making it watertight and thermally secure. It is covered by a full 30-year warranty, including labor and repair if installed to specification.

To ensure consistent quality and performance, all systems are supported by hands-on contractor training, supporting both new builds and retrofit projects.

A recent client success story illustrates the efficiency and strength of all three systems in action. aquatechnik completed a major project for a housing authority in New York, including 30 buildings with nearly 6,000 apartments. Usually, the plan involved extensive underground work and risers as the infrastructure was based on steel piping. This would have involved road closures, use of cranes, fire monitoring, and other logistics that incur significant costs.

Instead, Aquatechnik and the contractor re-engineered the system using its ISO-Technik for underground, Safety-Technik for risers and Fusio-Technik for large-diameter basement lines. All the systems were integrated seamlessly, and the result was remarkable. The company saved the contractor over half a million dollars, eliminated the need for cranes and fire watches and avoided halting a busy city street in NY. More impressively, the project originally scheduled for 13-14 months was completed in just eight and a half months. It was a major success in both cost savings and execution.

Today, aquatechnik is a trusted name among the Hutterite communities in Western Canada. The products have become their go-to solution for underground systems, mechanical installations, shop air lines and potable water in housing.

As PPR technology continues to emerge in the North American market, aquatechnik stands out as a reliable, cost-effective alternative to stainless steel and copper across residential, commercial and industrial applications.
