Orlando Teixeira, CEO and President. Founded in 1995 by Orlando Teixeira, Expedite Precision Works (EPW) has established itself as one of the industry leading providers of contract manufacturing services to various industries specializing in the manufacturing of precision machined components. It supports industries worldwide, including semiconductor, medical device, pharmaceutical, food processing, aerospace, and defense. EPW has been machining metal and plastic components with close-tolerances, utilizing the best equipment for the job from their large inventory of industry-leading CNC Vertical and Horizontal Mills, A full 5-Axis Mill, CNC Lathes, Wire EDM, Laser-Welding, and Swiss Screw Machines. Being ITAR registered, coupled with an ISO 9001:2015 & 13485:2016 certified quality system, EPW is committed to meeting and exceeding their customers’ requirements by ensuring the most reliable and high-quality results.
EPW is an incredibly diverse machine shop. Much of the diversity in the services that they provide, comes from the type of work they have been awarded throughout the years. “If we think we’ll be awarded a job that may require new equipment to efficiently complete it, we buy that new piece of equipment!” says Orlando Teixeira, CEO and President, EPW. Within the last few years, the company has invested in a full 5-Axis Milling center, a Micro-Vu visual measuring machine, Laser welding equipment along with pertinent destructive weld testing equipment, as well as Cryogenic deburring equipment, all with the goal of meeting the wide range of needs that the customers have. As older equipment gets replaced by new, state of the art equipment, EPW is always keeping up with demand in the various industries they support.
EPW is heavily involved with its customers throughout the product life cycle. “Our specialty ranges from quick turnaround, R&D prototype runs that our customers use to validate their design, to cost effective high quantity production runs,” enthusiastically states Orlando. EPW supports its customers with valueadded Design for Manufacturability (DFM) services to ensure high quality, robustly designed components. “We highlight the potential manufacturing challenges we would encounter and provide our customers with possible alternatives.” The clients may design a functional component; however, it might not be practical for machining. Thus, they consult with the company’s highly skilled leadership for their opinions on design ideas and expert feedback. “By doing so, we ensure that the project runs as efficiently as possible, with the purpose of saving the customer more money in the end”.
EPW believes its employee-driven culture plays an important role in providing their customers with quality products. “The only thing more important than our customers, are our employees,” says Teixeira. EPW has always considered employees as a tremendous value to the company. It strives to provide employees with competitive wages, complete benefits, necessary training, and growth opportunities. It believes that happy employees are more productive which will have a positive impact on the quality of the part(s) being delivered to the customer. “The company is focused on creating a friendly and comfortable working atmosphere for our employees, as well as constantly improving our capabilities and technology to ensure that we continue to be a leader in the manufacturing industry, for years to come,” concludes Orlando.
