Goeminne Patrick is the head of fabrics engineering at BekaertDeslee, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of mattress textiles and covers. Patrick’s career at BekaertDeslee began in August 1988, when he joined as a project engineer to oversee various engineering projects and ensure that they met the company’s standards for quality and efficiency. His dedication and technical acumen led to his promotion in May 1990 to plant manager at Bekaert Textiles Division Plush. As plant manager, Patrick managed daily operations, streamlined production processes and implemented strategies to enhance productivity.

In January 1998, Patrick transitioned to production manager weaving, overseeing the weaving department, focusing on optimising fabric production and maintaining high-quality standards. His leadership in this role was pivotal during a transformative period for the company. In January 2016, Bekaert Textiles merged with DesleeClama, forming BekaertDeslee. This merger combined two longstanding textile manufacturers with rich histories dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The integration expanded the company’s global footprint, enhancing its ability to serve a diverse and growing market.

Following the merger, in January 2019, Patrick was appointed as the head of technology cluster warping and weaving engineering. In this role, he led technological advancements in warping and weaving, ensuring that BekaertDeslee remained at the forefront of textile innovation. His efforts were instrumental in integrating new technologies and processes that improved product quality and operational efficiency.

In May 2021, Patrick assumed his current position as head of fabrics engineering. Under his leadership, the fabrics engineering team has focused on developing innovative mattress textiles that cater to evolving consumer needs. BekaertDeslee’s commitment to innovation is evident in its diverse product offerings, which include fabrics designed to enhance sleep quality through various functionalities such as cooling properties, allergen resistance and energy rejuvenation.

BekaertDeslee operates 19 production sites worldwide, employing over 2,500 people across 10 business units. The company’s products reach more than 100 countries, touching the lives of approximately 600 million sleepers every night. This extensive reach is a testament to the company’s dedication to quality and innovation, principles that professionals like Patrick uphold in their work.
