FREMONT, CA: Carrefour, the French retail behemoth, has started a slew of digital initiatives throughout its European markets, delivering on a recent vow to raise digital spending by 50 percent, or 3 billion euros between 2022 and 2026. Brut Shop, a joint venture dedicated to the social commerce market or live shopping, is one of the projects. It was created in collaboration with Brut, a European digital media company with 70 million members and 450 million viewers across 100 countries.
60 percent of Carrefour consumers who say they want to experience live shopping can get access to the Brut Shop, which the store describes as "a unique and responsible platform" where they can make online purchases while watching live stream video events on social media. According to a recent analysis from industry pricing platform Kelley Blue Book, the average price of used vehicles has climbed 42 percent in the last two years and is now close to USD30,000.

According to the Financial Times, Dolce & Gabbana is opening a beauty section as part of a plan to bring the company's 30-year-old, USD 544 million wholesale beauty business in-house and diversify its revenue beyond fashion. As part of the restructure, D&G's beauty division will take over development, manufacture, and distribution of Shiseido's fragrance and makeup items when their partnership expires in December.
